Committees
One of the best ways to build strong relationships with fellow Chamber members is to join a committee.
Events Committee – Stephanie Hodson with Avalon Park Group
This committee coordinates all the Chamber events and partnership opportunities and helps ensure all Chamber events are beneficial to general membership and in furtherance of policies set by Board. This committee meets year around. The committee meets every second Wednesday of the month from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Avalon Park Group Conference Room located at 3680 Avalon Park East Blvd., Suite 300, Orlando 32828.
East Orlando Chamber Community Kickball Challenge- Stephanie Hodson with Avalon Park Group
The Community Kickball Challenge is our health and wellness event to jump start the New Year. This event will bring the community together to play a well loved sport and with a portion of the proceeds to benefit a local non-profit. This committee meets from August to January.
Capitol Connection Committee- Carol Ann Dykes, UCF Business Incubator
This event done in partnership with 5 other area chambers. It allows our members the opportunity to head to Tallahassee to speak with our legislative delegation and learn about state government providing visibility to our chamber. This committee meets from August to March.
Visioning Committee- Carol Ann Dykes, UCF Business Incubator
Carries on the work of the original East Orlando Visioning Study that was published in 2003. This committee coordinates the Chamber’s annual Visioning Event and the our monthly luncheon program. The group meets year round.
Small Business Expo Committee-Tracy Durham, Leland Management
East Orlando Small Business Expo is an opportunity to showcase your business, network with your fellow chamber members and learn some useful business tips through informative workshops geared to provide you tools to help grow your business. This group meets from March to August.
Golf Committee-Sean Marlowe, Ameriprise Financial
Our signature fundraising event takes place every September. For over 25 years, the tournament has been allowing businesses to network on the green. A portion of the proceeds benefit a local East Orlando Chamber non-profit as well. This committee meets from March to September.
Education Day Committee-John Staab, Primrose School of Avalon Park
This event is a fun-filled, community festival perfect for the entire family that supports our local Orange County Public Schools. This is an excellent opportunity for school groups to showcase their talent and to raise funds for their organizations. In addition to the school showcase, local businesses and non-profits can participate to feature their products and services. This committee meets from March to October.
Non-Profit Recognition Luncheon Committee- Todd Hitchins, Carr Riggs & Ingram
This event is to showcase and recognize Non-Profit Organizations in the East Orlando community. It will allow the non-profits to present their cause and how they help in our community. The committee meets from June to November.
Membership & Ambassador Committee – David Mullins with Insight Marketing Group
Helps attract and secure new members and serves as a liaison between Board and membership. Oversees Ambassador program, which integrates new members into the organization by making them feel welcome and involved. This committee meets year round.
Lake Nona Area Council (formerly SEOBC) – Michael Bosely, Valencia College Lake Nona
The Lake Nona Area Council serves business and community members in Southeast Orlando. As an outreach arm of the East Orlando and St. Cloud Greater Osceola Chambers of Commerce, the Lake Nona Area Council works with EOCC and SCCC members and non-members in Southeast Orlando to support business connections through social and networking events that highlight the opportunities for growth in our community. This group meets year round on the last Friday of the month (except as noted on our calendar) at Valencia College Lake Nona, 12350 Narcoossee Road, Room 148, Orlando, FL 32832 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.
